Mboob Mbalahal have been performing and touring together in the Senegambia Region for the last 12 years. Group leader, Musa Mboob, has toured internationally with renowned artists such as IFANG BONDI and ABDEL KABIR and participated in the recent KAIRO Gambian compilation album in collaboration with Arch Records. Musa has been based in the UK for some time and is working as a performer, teacher and workshop leader. This year he is joined for the first time by the other members of the Mbalahal group and they are preparing to tour in the UK in the new year. Mbalahal performances incorporate rhythms from a variety of different tribes indigenous to the Senegambia region. Though they play the Sabar drums of Wolof and Serer cultures, they also perform the music of the Mandinka and Jola people.
